About Us
ST. LOUIS JUNIOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE
FOUNDED 1960
MISSION STATEMENT
The St. Louis Junior Football League is a registered non-profit organization made up entirely of volunteers in the Metropolitan St. Louis area. It was founded in 1960 with the purpose of giving children between the ages of 7 and 14 the opportunity to play organized tackle football. There are over a dozen area associations who all come together under the umbrella of the St. Louis Junior Football. These areas meet individually and as a group to make rules and coordinate their individual effort into one local group. This allows them to have inter-area games and activities with over 3000 young people in the metro area participating.
Representatives of these areas elect nine individuals, known as the Board of Directors, who are responsible for coordinating all inter-area functions and enforcing the agreed upon rules. There have been many refinements in this program since 1960 and with the assistance of all involved this program will continue to function and grow, giving many young people the opportunity to progress to their full potential in competitive activities, and all the while having fun.
The St. Louis Junior Football League (JFL) is committed to the concept of providing and demonstrating leadership for all area associations within the St. Louis JFL structure which is consistent with the purpose of this League. The St. Louis JFL is culturally diverse and is fully committed to maintaining and building on the diversity into the future. This we feel will give the young people to interact and foster lifelong friendship together.
In brief, you should know the following about us: our organization was established in 1960 and had been responsible for providing an opportunity for youth to play football ever since.
